We were selected as the sole glass manufacturer to supply a comprehensive glazing package comprising three distinct configurations, each engineered for a specific role in the building envelope.
Our scope included two types of SGP laminated insulating glass units (IGUs) for the main vision facade, featuring Low-E coatings and argon-filled cavities for superior thermal performance, and a groundbreaking silk-screened tempered laminated nano self-cleaning glass for exterior feature panels. All glass was fabricated in jumbo sizes up to 8,200mm in length, demonstrating our mastery of large-format, multi-technology production. The Baiyun International Conference Center now stands as a model of smart, sustainable design — clad in glass that cleans itself, controls heat, and offers panoramic transparency.
To fulfill the diverse performance requirements — from thermal insulation to self-cleaning decoration — we supplied three specialized glass make-ups, all using premium ultra-clear low-iron glass.

This balanced IGU provides an ideal combination of safety and thermal efficiency for large vision areas. The 1.52mm SGP interlayers in both outer and inner laminates ensure post-breakage integrity and edge stability. The Low-E coating on the #3 surface reflects solar heat, while the 12mm air cavity insulates against Guangzhou’s hot, humid climate.

For zones requiring greater structural strength — such as larger spans or higher wind load areas — we supplied a thicker IGU variant. The 12mm glass plies and 2.28mm SGP interlayers provide extra stiffness and impact resistance, while the Low-E coating and 12mm cavity deliver the same high-performance thermal insulation.
10mm Ultra-Clear Silk-Screened Tempered + 1.52mm SGP + 10mm Ultra-Clear Tempered — Laminated Glass with Nano Self-Cleaning Coating
This is one of the most advanced decorative glass products we manufacture. The outer 10mm glass ply is silk-screened with a custom ceramic frit pattern, tempered for strength, and then coated with a transparent nano self-cleaning layer. This hydrophilic coating uses sunlight and rainwater to break down and wash away organic dirt, dramatically reducing maintenance for the conference center’s exterior. The 1.52mm SGP interlayer bonds the printed glass to a clear 10mm tempered backing, encapsulating the silk-screen design for permanent protection.
All three configurations were produced in panel sizes reaching 8,200mm in length by 2,200mm in width — covering 18 square meters per single glass unit. A panel of this length, whether a thermally insulating IGU or a self-cleaning decorative laminate, must be perfectly flat, flawlessly laminated, and structurally sound from edge to edge. At Zhongbo Glass, 8.2-meter jumbo glass is a well-practiced reality, and delivering it in three distinct make-ups underscores our production flexibility and technical depth.
For Configuration C, the 10mm outer ply required a precise silk-screened frit pattern applied uniformly across an 8.2-meter length, then tempered to full strength. Our automated jumbo silk-screen printing line ensured perfect pattern registration, while our super-jumbo flat tempering furnace simultaneously matured the ceramic ink and achieved surface compression above 69 MPa — without optical distortion or print degradation. The same furnace tempered all clear plies for Configurations A and B.
After tempering and silk-screening, the glass for Configuration C received its nano self-cleaning coating in a climate-controlled cleanroom. The coating is permanently bonded to the glass surface and requires no maintenance itself. This value-added technology, integrated into a laminated SGP panel, sets Zhongbo Glass apart as a provider of complete, future-ready glass solutions.
Laminating jumbo panels with SGP interlayers — whether the 1.52mm SGP in Configurations A and C, or the thicker 2.28mm SGP in Configuration B — requires extended de-airing and precision autoclave control. Our process:
Class 1 cleanroom layup to eliminate contamination.
Vacuum bag de-airing tailored for long, slender panels.
Custom autoclave cycles in our large-format autoclave, achieving flawless edge-to-edge adhesion.
For Configuration C, special care was taken not to disturb the silk-screen or nano-coating during lamination. The finished decorative panels are bubble-free, crystal clear, and fully laminated.
Configurations A and B required coupling two jumbo laminates into hermetically sealed IGUs with a 12mm air cavity and an integrated Low-E coating. Our automated IGU line used laser alignment and robotic dual-seal application to ensure uniform cavity width and a durable perimeter seal. Each IGU was tested for dew point and seal integrity, guaranteeing long-term thermal performance.
Transporting 8.2-meter glass — including delicate silk-screened and nano-coated panels — from our factory to Guangzhou required custom A-frame transport stillages with vibration dampening. Air-ride trailers and coordinated night deliveries ensured all panels arrived on site in pristine condition, ready for immediate installation at the conference center.
