The facade required massive, floor-to-ceiling glass panels — some flat, some gracefully curved — that project absolute clarity, structural strength, and an uninterrupted visual connection with the city.
We were entrusted to deliver this vision, and we responded by manufacturing tall-format triple-ply SGP laminated glass panels in both curved and flat configurations, reaching over 6 meters in height. This dual-format project showcases our ability to combine extreme dimensions, flawless ultra-clear aesthetics, and the highest safety standards — all within a single landmark installation.

All Ultra-Clear (Low-Iron) Glass: Every 12mm ply is premium low-iron glass, delivering a crystal-clear, color-neutral transparency. This allows Huawei’s cutting-edge products to be seen in true color, even from outside the store.
Triple-Ply Construction: Three layers of 12mm tempered glass provide inherent strength and redundancy.
Dual 1.52mm SGP Interlayers: Two layers of SentryGlas® Plus ionoplast interlayer bond the three glass plies into one monolithic structural unit. SGP offers five times the tear strength of conventional PVB and exceptional stiffness, ensuring the panel remains intact and load-bearing even under extreme impact — a critical requirement for a high-traffic public space.
Total Thickness Exceeds 39mm: The finished panel is a rigid, structural glass slab that provides outstanding acoustic insulation from the busy Wuhan streetscape while offering complete visual transparency.
Precision Edge Finish: All exposed edges are ground and polished to a high-luster finish, revealing the layered laminate construction and adding a premium tactile quality.
The maximum glass panel size reached 3,243mm in width by 6,032mm in height — over 6 meters tall and covering nearly 20 square meters per panel. This tall, slender format creates a breathtaking, column-free glass wall that floods the interior with natural light. The height exceeds two standard building storeys, requiring absolute perfection in glass flatness or curvature, lamination uniformity, and edge strength.
For the curved panels, achieving this height with a consistent, smooth curvature across 6 meters — without twist or optical distortion — is a hallmark of advanced glass manufacturing. At Zhongbo Glass, we processed these panels with the same rigor and precision that defines all our jumbo glass projects.
Tempering a 12mm low-iron glass sheet over 6 meters tall requires exceptional furnace uniformity. Our jumbo tempering lines, both flat and curved, are equipped with multi-zone heating and precision quench control. For the curved units, we bent and tempered each 12mm ply to an identical radius using our super-jumbo curved tempering furnace, ensuring all three plies matched perfectly for lamination. For the flat panels, we controlled roller wave and bow to the strictest standards, guaranteeing undistorted reflections on the vast glass surface.
Laminating three 6-meter tall plies with two stiff SGP interlayers is a significant challenge. SGP’s high modulus demands perfectly flat or matched-curve glass and a meticulously controlled lamination cycle. Our process included:
Class 1 cleanroom layup to eliminate any dust or contamination between plies.
Vacuum bag de-airing specifically adapted for tall, narrow panels to remove all air pockets.
A custom autoclave cycle in our massive autoclave, applying uniform heat and pressure across the entire 6-meter height. The result is a bubble-free, optically pure laminate with full edge-to-edge SGP adhesion.
Because the curved and flat panels are installed side-by-side in the facade, they had to present an absolutely consistent visual appearance. We controlled every variable — from glass raw material batch to tempering parameters to SGP interlayer thickness — ensuring identical light transmission, reflectivity, and color neutrality regardless of panel geometry. The Huawei Experience Store facade reads as one seamless ribbon of glass.
Transporting finished panels over 6 meters in height from our factory in Henan to the construction site in Wuhan required our proven jumbo-glass logistics system. Custom vertical A-frame transport racks, vibration-dampened air-ride trailers, and carefully planned delivery routes ensured every panel — especially the more delicate curved units — arrived on site free of damage, scratches, or edge chips.
