Fire-rated glass is a specialized material with different thermal expansion characteristics and surface quality compared to standard float glass. We sourced premium fire-rated glass substrates that are compatible with tempering, bending, frit application, and SGP lamination. Our strict incoming quality control ensured that every fire-rated sheet was free from defects that could compromise its performance in a fire. The finished laminates are bubble-free, fully adhered, and tested to confirm they meet the project’s fire-resistance rating.
4. Insulating Glass Assembly for Curved Fire-Rated Units
Sealing two curved fire-rated SGP laminates into a thermally insulating unit with a 20mm cavity is a task of extreme precision. The curved geometry makes uniform cavity width and perfect edge seal difficult. We engineered dedicated curved IGU assembly stations with laser-guided alignment and robotic dual-seal application. Each unit underwent rigorous testing for cavity integrity, dew point, and durability to ensure it performs as a fire barrier and an energy-efficient envelope for decades.
5. Logistics: Transporting 8.3-Meter Fire-Rated Curved IGUs
The stakes for transporting fire-rated glass are even higher than normal: any damage could invalidate the fire certification. We designed custom curved transport stillages with full-contact cradles, shock-absorbing suspension, and real-time vibration monitoring. Dedicated air-ride trailers and police-escorted convoys delivered each 8.33-meter panel safely from our factory to the construction site in Beijing.
