This landmark building serves as the headquarters for Tencent Cloud, one of the world’s leading cloud computing platforms, and demands a facade that combines breathtaking aesthetics, structural safety, and outstanding energy efficiency. Our team engineered, fabricated, and delivered some of the most challenging architectural glass panels ever produced in China — reinforcing our position as a top-tier jumbo curved glass manufacturer.
Glass Configuration — Engineered for Extremes
To meet the architect’s vision of a seamless, transparent envelope with gentle curves, we manufactured two custom glass make-ups, both utilizing SentryGlas® Plus (SGP) interlayers for superior strength and post-breakage performance.

Both configurations feature an all-ultra-clear base, high-performance Low-E coating, and a 16mm argon-filled cavity, achieving the perfect balance of daylight transmission and thermal insulation. The use of dual 2.28mm SGP interlayers instead of conventional PVB ensures the glass remains integral even under extreme wind loads and impacts — a critical requirement for a super-tall building in a typhoon-prone region like Shenzhen.
Breaking Size Records: 7673mm × 3013mm
The true highlight of this project lies in the maximum glass panel size: 7673 mm × 3013 mm. For the curved segments, we successfully produced jumbo curved tempered laminated insulated units at this scale — an extraordinary technical achievement that very few glass processors in the world can replicate.
A single panel of this size covers over 23 square meters and weighs several tons. Processing it required synchronizing our entire production chain: from precision cutting and edgeworking to massive bending-tempering furnaces, SGP lamination under strict vacuum and heat-pressure conditions, and final assembly into an insulated glass unit with zero optical distortion. Our ability to handle such oversized curved structural glass with SGP and Low-E coating is a direct testament to Zhongbo Glass’s advanced manufacturing capabilities.
Challenges Overcome — and Our Technical Strengths
1. Ultra-Large Curved Tempering
Bending and tempering a 7.6-meter ultra-clear glass sheet to a precise radius without roller-wave distortion or optical defects demands state-of-the-art machinery. Our in-house jumbo curved tempering furnace, one of the largest in the industry, allows us to process glass up to 8 meters in length while maintaining tight curvature tolerances.
2. Perfect SGP Lamination
SGP is a stiff, high-modulus ionoplast interlayer that is notoriously difficult to process in jumbo sizes. We utilized a fully automated SGP laminating line with precise climate control and multi-stage nip-roll de-airing. The result is a bubble-free, crystal-clear laminate with exceptional adhesion, enabling the glass to act as a structural element.
3. High-Performance Insulating Glass Assembly
Integrating a curved laminated outer panel with a curved inner panel into a durable insulating glass unit — while preserving the integrity of the Low-E coating and achieving a long-lasting hermetic seal — required customized IG production jigs and rigorous quality control. The 16mm argon-filled cavity ensures a low U-value, helping the Tencent Cloud Tower meet stringent green building standards.
4. Logistics and Installation Support
Transporting fragile, multi-ton super-sized curved panels from our factory in Henan to downtown Shenzhen without damage was a challenge we solved through custom-designed steel stillages, real-time impact monitoring, and close collaboration with the installation team. Every piece arrived on-site dimensionally accurate and ready to install.
